REXBURG- A local youth was sentenced to 15 years without parole after a snowball fight that occurred during last night’s snowstorm.

What started out as a “friendly” snowball fight ended in disaster for ten-year-old J.T. Walker. Within minutes, the scuffle went from simple snowballs to a full on whitewash, leaving another child crying like a child.

Witnesses notified the police who arrived in a smart car within the hour. Walker was detained, booked, and sentenced before noon today.

“Snowball throwing is a crime and kids need to learn the consequences of breaking the law,” said Deputy Chuck Tarson. “We are going to make an example of him so that other violent offenders will know how serious we are.”

Walker’s parents, who were unavailable for comment, tweeted earlier today, “Hopefully after this JT will learn to respect the law. #teachingmoment #thelawihonorit.”
