REXBURG, Idaho- In a statement issued this morning, President Kim B. Clark of BYU-Idaho said he is relieved he didn’t have to use the 450 ft. long ark that he has been building in his backyard.
The ark, which Clark started as a pet project five years ago, was finished just in time for the flash flood that surprised Rexburg yesterday. Fearing that the flood would overtake the city, Clark began calling in various animals, mostly house cats and squirrels.
Luckily for Clark, the rain and hail persisted only for a few hours and the need for the ship soon dissipated. While he was admittedly looking forward to testing the ark, which he affectionately refers to as the Kim B. Ark, he is relieved that it was not necessary.
“As always,” said Clark,”The safety of the citizens and students of Rexburg takes precedence over any personal concerns.”
